Copenhagen ZOO Copenhagen, Denmark

Copenhagen ZOO is going green. So to implement energy saving and climate protection measures it has opted for solar energy – powered by Qcells. Copenhagen ZOO has signed a cooperation agreement with the energy funds of Pensionskassernes Administration A/S (PKA), SustainSolutions and Solcellekonsulenten A/S (wholesaler), in order to attain annual energy savings of 20 % as well as 6 million litres of water and a saving of 170 tonnes in CO2 emission for running the zoo. Solar energy will play a key role here, as the lion’s share of the energy saving for Copenhagen Zoo will be achieved by installing photovoltaic systems on the roofs of 12 buildings in the zoo’s gardens.

Flat rooftop solar installation Norfolk, Great Britain

The 522.6 kWp array was constructed at the main production facility of Natures Menu, a British producer of high-quality pet food. This solar system is the largest in Europe to be built using -G5, and generates solar electricity using 1,608 Q.PEAK DUO-G5 modules.

solar installation Bitterfeld-Wolfen, Germany

The 100 kW system on the roof of Brandschutz Nagel GmbH in Bitterfeld-Wolfen consists of 356 Q.PLUS BFR-G4.1 solar modules with 280 Wp each and Q.ANTUM Technology. With a performance ratio of 86 %, it is expected to produce over 80,000 kWh of clean electricity per year. Hanwha Qcells‘ very experienced Q.PARTNER Röder Solar GmbH based in Halle installed the system within a few days.

Photovoltaic system Kleve, Germany

Since 2015, managing directors Dominik and Benedikt Winkels have installed two photovoltaic systems through B&W Energy with a total output of around 1.25 MWp: "The generated solar power is used to operate our machinery and thus reduces the amount of externally sourced electricity. During our downtimes, the solar power is fed into our supplier's grid." The second photovoltaic system (749 kWp) included around 2,500 high-performance Qcells solar modules.

Davos congress center & indoor swimming pool Davos, Switzerland

Hanwha Qcells supports the “Greener Davos” initiative by the municipality of Davos and the World Economic Forum by sponsoring its high efficiency Q.PEAK-G3 275 Wp modules for a 340 kWp industrial solar system on the rooftop of the Davos Congress Center and the adjoining swimming pool “eau-lá-lá”. The installation of the photovoltaic system’s first section, consisting of around 640 solar modules with a maximum output of 175 kWp, has now been completed on the rooftop of the Davos Congress Center and connected to the grid. The solar roof installation of the modules was completed just before the first snowfall in November 2013. Right after the Qcells solar modules had been delivered, a helicopter took them to the rooftop of the Davos Congress Center and within another two days all modules had been installed and wired to the grid. The second section of the 340 kWp PV system will be installed on the rooftop of the Davos indoor swimming pool.
